The five limbs (Panch-ang)

Tithi is the lunar day, Nakshatra the star the Moon occupies, Yoga a Sun-Moon combination, Karana half a tithi, and Vaara the weekday. Together they decide the quality of the day and the right muhurat.

Why your city matters

The start and end of each tithi and nakshatra are clock times that depend on your longitude and local sunrise. A single all-India Panchang from an IST formula is therefore off for most cities, and clearly wrong abroad in Dubai, London or Toronto. CosmosPandit computes the Panchang from the true sunrise at your exact coordinates.

How to read it

Check the tithi and nakshatra for festivals and fasts, the vaara and yoga for day quality, and pair them with the Choghadiya and Rahu Kaal to pick a precise time to act.
