Two schedules, not a two-day instruction

For New Delhi, the reference lists Devutthana Ekadashi on November 20, 2026 and Gauna Devutthana Ekadashi on November 21. Do not merge the two rows into a requirement to observe both dates. Confirm the calendar followed by your household or temple and keep its observance date paired with its own parana date. Names such as Dev Uthani, Devutthana and Prabodhini refer to this Ekadashi.

New Delhi parana references

For the November 20 observance, the reference gives November 21, 1:11–3:18 PM IST for parana. For the alternate November 21 observance, it gives November 22, 6:49–8:56 AM IST. These are New Delhi reference windows only. Parana means completing the fast; it is not the start of the festival. Notice that the first listed window is in the afternoon, so a generic “break every Ekadashi fast at sunrise” reminder would be misleading here.

Plan your own observance rather than copying a forward

Start with three pieces of information: the city where you will be, the calendar tradition you follow, and the observance date selected in that calendar. Then write the corresponding parana date and time separately. If a forwarded image omits any of these, check the original reference before using it. The tithi’s beginning and end are background Panchang information, not a replacement for the named observance and parana schedule.

Prepare a simple prayer programme

Choose the Vishnu picture or murti used in your home, arrange your customary lamp, flowers, water and offering, and keep the prayer or katha you follow ready. Divide preparation between family members instead of making everything a last-minute task. A short, familiar programme can be easier to follow together than a long list of unfamiliar steps. Ask your priest about formal ritual requirements rather than assuming one internet checklist covers every practice.

Coordinate meals and family commitments

If members of your household observe a vrat, discuss their customary arrangement in advance and plan the shared meal around the appropriate completion schedule. This article does not prescribe who should fast, how long anyone should abstain, or a particular diet. Keep devotional planning separate from health decisions. Do not pressure relatives to adopt a practice simply because other participants follow it.

How this connects with Tulsi Vivah

Tulsi Vivah programmes are often arranged during the same part of Kartik. The related guide explains the November 21 New Delhi reference and why some families use a different day within their tradition. A community celebration can have an advertised programme time of its own; ask the organiser rather than treating your Ekadashi parana window as a wedding-ceremony muhurat.

Check your place and keep both dates visible

In CosmosPandit, select your city and the relevant date to review the Panchang. Keep the ritual-specific reference and your temple’s calendar alongside that information. If travelling, use the destination instead of your saved home location. Converting a Delhi clock window into another time zone does not establish a local parana calculation. Share the city, observance date and completion date together when sending plans to relatives.
